The piece
The Corinthian helmet pendant is sculpted in solid sterling silver — the same form as the helmet endpoints on the Corinthian Cuff Bracelet, scaled up and worn on the chest instead of the wrist. Detail in the crest, the cheek-pieces, the narrow eye openings.
Hung on a 22-inch sterling silver chain. The pendant sits at sternum height on most men. Wears well over a black t-shirt or under an open shirt button.
Why it’s named that
The Corinthian helmet was the standard combat helmet of the Greek city-states from the 7th to 5th centuries BCE — the helmet you see on hoplites in nearly every classical depiction of war. The form has outlasted the empires that wore it.
Care
Sterling silver darkens with skin contact. Wipe pendant and chain with a soft cloth after wear. Polish if you want the brightness back; leave alone if you want the patina.
