HOW TO MEASURE YOUR FINGER:

We use Standard US size for all of our rings (8, 9, 10, etc)

  • Wrap a piece of paper (no wider than 3/4") or string around the base of the appropriate finger tightly like a ring, but comfortably, with enough room to slide over the knuckle.
  • Mark and measure the length of the paper or string used to wrap around your finger, in millimeters, and check it against our size chart.

The piece

The ring is sculpted in sterling silver as the head of Athena Noctua — the little owl that accompanied the goddess of wisdom in Greek mythology and that still appears on the Greek euro coin today. Two black crystals are set as the eyes. The face is detailed enough to read every feather.

Finished in oxidized silver, which deepens the sculpting and lets the crystal eyes carry the focal point. People notice this ring before they notice anything else.

Why it’s named that

Athena noctua is the Latin name for the species — the little owl, native to Greece and a symbol of the goddess Athena since the 6th century BCE. Wisdom and watchfulness were the qualities. We didn’t change them.

Care

Wipe with a soft cloth after wear. The oxidation is part of the design — don’t polish it off. Avoid contact with lotion, perfume, or chlorine.
