What’s covered
Every Marcos de Andrade piece is covered for 6 months from delivery against manufacturing defects:
- A clasp, hinge, or closure that fails under normal use
- A bead, stone, or component that comes loose without impact
- Plating that flakes or peels off in sheets within the warranty window (this is rare and indicates a manufacturing issue, not normal wear)
- Sterling silver elements that crack or break under normal wear
If any of these happen, email [email protected] with your order number and a photo of the issue. We’ll arrange a replacement at no cost to you, including return shipping.
What’s not covered
Things every man buying jewelry should know — and that no jewelry brand at this tier can warranty against:
Tarnishing of sterling silver
Sterling silver is 92.5% silver alloyed with copper. The copper reacts with sulfur in the air, in skin, and in personal-care products. Every sterling silver piece tarnishes. A polishing cloth restores the brightness in 30 seconds. We include one with every order.
Wear on gold plating
Our gold-plated pieces are 18k gold over sterling silver. With everyday wear, the plating thins gradually over years — faster if exposed to lotion, perfume, chlorine, or salt water. This is true of every plated piece at every brand, including the brands selling pieces at three times our price. Plating wear is not a defect.
Lost stones from impact
Crystals are durable but not indestructible. A stone knocked out by a hard impact (door frame, weight rack, gym bag) is wear, not defect.
Damage from misuse
Wearing pieces in the shower, the ocean, the pool, the gym, or to bed will shorten their life. None of this is covered.
Lost or stolen pieces
We can’t replace a piece you misplaced.
Why we don’t warranty against tarnishing
We considered offering a tarnish-replacement warranty. We chose not to, for one reason: it would be dishonest. No one in our segment offers it because no one can. Sterling silver tarnishes. Plated gold thins. These are properties of the materials, not flaws in the workmanship. Offering a tarnish warranty would mean either raising prices significantly to fund constant replacements, or silently denying claims when they came in. We won’t do either.
What we offer instead is a piece designed to age well, a polishing cloth in every order, and a care guide that tells you exactly how to make a piece last. With basic care, MDA pieces last decades.
How to file a warranty claim
Email [email protected] with:
- Your order number
- The piece in question
- A clear photo of the defect
- A short description of when and how the issue appeared
We respond within one business day. Most claims are resolved within 7–10 business days, including the time to ship a replacement.
